Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Licensed Massage Therapist, Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner, Certified Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator
As the middle of seven children growing up in St. Paul, MN, Karrie was introduced to birth and breastfeeding at a young age. She now resides in Austin, MN with her husband and 4 children of her own. She began her journey as a birth and postpartum doula in 2016 because she firmly believes in the importance of the birth experience and the lasting impact it can have on a family. She has experience attending both home and hospital births and thinks feeling supported goes a long way to improving the birth experience no matter where you decide to give birth, though she is partial to the benefits of homebirth and midwifery care! She has long believed in the power of touch and in 2018 graduated from massage school and specializes in prenatal massage. As a Massage Therapist she is certified as a Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner and offers body balancing sessions for optimal fetal positioning which can help facilitate a faster, easier labor and birth. Karrie is also a CLC and volunteers as co-chair of the Mower County Breastfeeding Coalition. She is excited to now be utilizing the knowledge and experience she has gained by diving into the world of teaching Childbirth Education alongside Midwife Meg Novak from Rochester MIdwifery Birth and Wellness.
