I do this by assisting with your other responsibilities so that you can focus on bonding with your new baby. Breastfeeding assistance if needed and ideas for newborn care. I offer daytime hours, no overnights and a minimum of 4 hour increments.
Free Consultations are available. E-mail me to schedule either an in-person or virtual meet up.
Massage & Bodywork Services
As a Massage Therapist and Spinning Babies Ⓡ Aware Practitioner I specialize in Prenatal Massage and Bodywork. You can choose either a 60 or 90 min massage or a 2 hour body balancing session which is beneficial during the third trimester to prepare for a faster, easier labor or for postpartum recovery
I also regularly provide therapeutic massage for my non pregnant clients, specializing in extended length massages and deep tissue but can provide a more relaxing type massage. Most clients chose my 90 min massage but I also offer a 2 hour massage for repeat clients that may need it!
A CLC or Certified Lactation Consultant is a reliable source of evidence based information for women planning to breastfeed their newborns or who are struggling with breastfeeding. They provide various types of information including tips and tricks such as assessing and improving latch, positioning baby, hunger cues, breast tenderness, and milk production. Their role is to advise and support you and your baby’s nursing experience and make it as enjoyable and successful as possible. This may also include resources and referals to an IBCLC for a diagnoses, prescription or help with a long term plan when needed.
I offer one-on-one support either online, in home or in my office. I am also available for one off questions via text or email through my work on the Mower County Breastfeeding Coalition. In addition you are welcome to join a once a week check-in/meet up online Monday afternoons from 1-3pm. This is done through the coalitions facebook page using the rooms option.
I am currently teaming up with Meg Novak, a local home birth midwife in Rochester to offer a one time intensive class geared toward families preparing for out of hospital birth but it can prove beneficial for those hoping for a more natural hospital birth as well. The class is held in a small group in Meg's Rochester office on a Saturday afternoon. It is offered every other month.
I am also working toward a Childbirth Educator Certification so that I can bring a more extensive well-rounded option to the Austin and Albert Lea areas. This may include group classes as well as private in home classes. I would love input from the community about what you would like to see offered.
